Just Start To Code, Don’t Wait

A lot of people have been asking me about how do I learn how to code. Bear in mind that I am still a beginner of coding and I am still trying to figure my way of learning it.

I start to notice what people really want to know from asking this question in specific, is that they want to know how can I continue to code on a daily basis. The answer is simple: just do it.

I saw a lot of videos on YouTuber that people share their 3-month learning how to code journey and talk about how they can quickly land themselves a job fast. Anyone who’s trying to learn how to code probably find it motivated and frustrated at the same time. People want to success as quickly as possible and often get upset about their slow progress on programming.

I see programming as a long term activity personally. And at this point, I try to learn a little bit more in a day and just continue to do it on a daily basis. I don’t want to give myself too much pressure by setting so much goals (especially on finding a job, etc) but really just to appreciate my everyday effort on putting some more work on learning the language. In that sense, the process might be slow, but I build a deep, solid foundation and I am sure I will see achievemeets someday in the future.

The book Make Time by Jake Knapp and John Zeratsky, talks a lot more about productivity and how to achieve your goals in details. I learnt so much from keeping self-discipline and it reallyy motiviates me to get my everyday tasks done. Go check it out if you’re interested.
